We all say we want to volunteer, right? (Well, 90% of Americans do) But life happens.

We try to balance work, personal relationships, fun-time, down-time, our own house and life projects….and then, well, it doesn’t happen. In the meantime, nonprofits are dying to get more volunteers in the door, but struggle to tap into a mainstream audience and make it easy to volunteer. We believe volunteering should be something you can weave into the way you live, work, and play—and we’re on a mission to make that happen.

We’re a start-up.

Our vision is for Swoovy to be the service platform that seamlessly weaves giving and volunteering into everyday life, where potential givers develop transformational rather than transactional relationships.

Founding CEO, Brooke Waupsh, with a background in brand strategy and an award-winning marketer, launched the software company, Swoovy in 2018 in Austin, TX, and the community instantly grabbed hold of what was there.

Was it provocative to weave volunteering in to dating? Maybe, but the community celebrated and embraced the idea. In a world of dating apps, now people could connect through good, have instant ice-breakers, and at the end of the day if the date didn’t work out you still felt good about your time spent. One of our favorite success stories was a couple going on a date and it not being a romantic match, but they became best friends.

Now Swoovy supports individuals easily finding volunteer opportunities, couples strengthening their relationships through good, and corporations dedicated to empowering their employees to volunteer for causes they care about.

That’s what happens when you start with good. #LetsGetTogetherForGood #ThatsSwoovy

That’s where Swoovy comes in, and that’s where the magic happens.

Our mission is to modernize how givers and organizations connect, unlocking untapped value in the desire to do good, and fostering personal connection along the way. Starting with a dating app that connected single people to match through shared interests and volunteer for a date, we expanded to support couples looking for more meaningful experiences together and a way to easily check the box of always wanting to give back.

Now Swoovy supports corporate, collegiate, and faith-based groups getting connected with service projects in a way that strengthens camaraderie, boost corporate social responsibility, your local communities—and most importantly, acknowledges individual interests and empowers people to give time how and when they want to give, with the opportunity to strengthen personal relationships along the way.
